Merry Christmas from
"Debbie Blais Real Estate"
Recipe for Christmas All Year Long

Take a heap of child-like wonder that opens up our eyes to the unexpected gifts in life each day a sweet surprise. Mix in fond appreciation for the people whom we know;
like festive Christmas candles, each one has a special glow. Add some giggles and some laughter, a dash of Christmas food, (Amazing how a piece of pie improves our attitude!) Stir it all with human kindness; wrap it up in love and peace, decorate with optimism, and our joy will never cease. If we use this healthy recipe, we know we will remember to be in the Christmas spirit, even when it's not December.

Local business woman gives the gift of art...
ONE OF THIS YEAR'S: recipients of the Debbie Blais Dream Scholarship, Patrick Rogers of Middleboro (seen with Debbie Blais) used his scholarship to participate in the Burt Wood School's production of "42nd Street."
MIDDLEBORO — Debbie Blais, founder, owner, and operator of Debbie Blais Real Estate and Blais Builders, reached out to Lorna Brunelle, owner of The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts, this past January offering a $1000 annual scholarship to help a child experience the joy of art. The Debbie Blais DREAM Scholarship will be available each January to help local students express themselves through art. The scholarship was inspired by one of Debbie's favorite Thoreau quotes, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."
With success in real-estate, development, and construction, Ms. Blais values the role public speaking, communication, and performance plays in the artistic evolution and education of children. A lifelong resident of Middleboro and successful business woman for over 25 years, Debbie has been active in many community projects and events.
Lorna Brunelle accepted letters of interest from families in Middleboro and Lakeville with children grades K-12. In search of applicants who have felt as if their dream was out of reach due to the lack of funds to study the arts, Ms. Blais and Ms. Brunelle selected two local children for the award. Destiny Cobb of Middleboro used her scholarship towards a Glee, Jr. class at The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts this past 2010-2011 season. Patrick Rodg ers of Middleboro was cast in "42nd Street" at The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts and will perform in the show this weekend at Apponequet High School in Lakeville.
The deadline for the 2012 applications and letters is Dec. 29. The award recipient will be contacted over the 2011 holidays and will begin classes the first week of January 2012. Families can find an application form on burtwoodschool.com under The Debbie Blais DREAM Scholarship, or letters (must contain address, phone number, and the age and name of the child) can be mailed to: The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts, 133 Centre Street, Middleboro, Mass 02346 ATTEN: The Debbie Blais DREAM Scholarship.
